How to Find the Perfect Bicycle Seat
Joshua Cohen is an avid cyclist with a masters degree in human movement science. In this rather academic book, he summarises most of the recent research into men's problems with bicycle saddles and makes recommendations about what shape a saddle probably ought to be to reduce those problems. I say 'men's' advisedly. There's not much here for women except a suggestion that similar general principles ought to apply.
.....Joshua gives some good tips on saddle height and position (the same tips as you'll find in any book on cycling) but stops short of recommending specific products, only suggesting that something close to the perfect bicycle seat could be on the market later this year. Maybe it's here already. I've been getting very good reports on the Rido saddle (http://www.rido-cyclesaddles.com), which has the shape he deems desirable and looks similar (but not identical) to the 'promising new design' illustrated in this book.
